Age was not the segmentation. Discretion was.
Three research-based personas across age cohorts in a category where buyers rarely discuss the problem out loud.
A health supplements brand in a category where buyers rarely discuss the problem out loud.
Research-based personas showed the real split was behavioural, not demographic. The youngest cohort researched openly online and followed creators. The middle segment researched privately and treated discreet delivery as close to a dealbreaker. The oldest bypassed e-commerce entirely, buying in pharmacies on a pharmacist's recommendation.
That split set the channel mix and the tone of voice for each segment. One brand, three genuinely different buying processes — and marketing that finally acknowledged it.
